The Academy Software Foundation is fostering industry-wide collaboration to develop open source solutions and standards. In this panel, hear from leading creative studios and tools manufacturers about how they are prioritizing open source as both a business model and an engineering mandate, and how cross-company collaboration looks in practice.
This panel will bring together representatives from multiple Academy Software Foundation member companies to share real-world lessons from their experiences developing open source projects, and the benefits of open source to the broader media industry. The discussion will cover both longstanding and newly-launched open source projects, including OpenColorIO, the Digital Production Example Library (DPEL), MaterialX, and the Open Review Initiative, among others. Attendees will learn about how these efforts are helping to improve visual fidelity throughout the digital content creation industry.
