The present and foreseeable future have a landscape of media devices and services existing on-prem, and in private and public clouds.

This hybrid environment is great, and offers broadcasters the ultimate in flexibility to mix and match best of breed products from a variety of vendors. The challenge is that there is no standardized method of discovering and controlling these devices regardless of platform or vendor.

SMPTE’s RIS-OSA is working on a solution to all of this, called Catena. This is a cross-industry effort that is open-source, with security (zero trust) at its core. In this session, Ross Video's Chris Lennon will look at the latest progress on this important initiative.
